This implies a level playing field, with all providers delivering thesame framework. This is a welcome development, but there are a number ofchallenges.
The successful delivery of EYFS relies on a collaborative approach, withpractitioners linking with early years colleagues as well as newerpartners in extended schools and children's centres. We know themajority of children's centres are working with registered childminders.The same is true of emerging extended schools. But there remains a rolefor the Government in providing guidance to help local authoritiessupport providers in this shared approach.
In addition, EYFS focuses on the needs of the individual child. Everysetting will be required to observe each child to ensure theirdevelopment is nurtured and to record progress against keymilestones.
