Opinion: If I were in charge of theatre - Verity Howard, 16,Walthamstow

It's really hard to get into theatre so I think it would be really good to give more people a chance and find new talent. For example, by going to places like secondary schools. There are plenty of theatre schools but there are also lots of talented people in ordinary schools who might not have thought about going into the theatre. They go for looks as well, but it's not about that - they should branch out a bit and look for talent.

There are a lot of famous directors, but it would be nice to haveworkshops where anyone could have a go at directing their own plays, just for a day.

There are also a lot of musicals on at the moment. It would be good tohave more variety at the bigger theatres - dramas in different stylesand different ethnic plays. I do like musicals, but if I was staging oneit wouldn't be a big Broadway drama but a lot more stylised.

It can be really expensive to go to the theatre so they should have moreafternoon shows so people can see things and it's not so pricey.
