Opinion: If I were in charge of child poverty - Marija Skramic, 14,Haringey

The first thing I would do is give more child benefits to parents who needed them. I also have an idea for a summer camp that children could go to, which would be free. This camp would be somewhere in England, perhaps Cornwall, where it would be lovely and sunny and they could get plenty of fresh air. Plenty of activities would be offered to the children, such as swimming, surfing, volleyball and football.

Spending the summer at these camps would mean that parents could have abreak, as I think that's really important too. I would also give themextra money over the summer so that they could treat themselves.

Another thing I think would help is if university tuition fees werelowered so that more people could afford to go. It's important thatuniversities have a mixture of people from state and privateschools.

I go to a private school and sometimes it feels like there's a reallybig difference between private and state schools because people makesuch an issue of it. But I think anyone can get into a private school ifthey try hard enough.
