Everyone needs a key person in their lives and I think for many a socialworker would be the person they would want.
Because stability is so important I would work on improving this. Manyyoung people move several times a year, which means that school, relationships with friends and family, and home life are disrupted. Toimprove stability we need training sessions for carers on what childrenneed and want from a placement, a match-making scheme where fosterfamilies are suited to the young person's needs, and continued regularsupport from social services.
Recent stats show that young people in care receive lower and fewer GCSEgrades than their peers. By improving the stability of placements Ithink we could also tackle the issues of education.
