Opinion: If I were in charge of ... Stopping bullying - Rebecca,15, Manchester

Bullying is a really wide issue. Schools should help with it. They could have a bully mentor or counsellor that you could speak to confidentially.

At my school we had a box that we could use to put in a paper sayingwhat had happened if we didn't want to talk to someone about it. It wasall confidential and someone would try to sort it out.

If you don't tell someone it keeps going on, so if you're being bulliedtell someone you can trust. Students need to look out for other studentsbecause sometimes you can't tell other people yourself because you'rescared something will happen.

Some people don't think they're actually being bullied, but if you'refeeling vulnerable or you're scared of someone, you're beingbullied.

It can include name calling, mental abuse and violence. People can callpeople names and it's just messing about, but it depends. If you'reupset, tell someone because it's bullying, and they'll try and helpyou.
