Sometimes teaching assistants come across as patronising. They'reemployed by care agencies. Older people don't get on with disabledchildren because they try to mother them and I don't like it. Sometimesyou feel like they're being sarcastic and manipulating too. It's all"how are you darling?"
I feel really awful saying this.
Today's conference has been worthwhile. People are very positive,there's lots of energy. I've learned that there's another word forrespite. It's short breaks. It's a better term because it's justnicer.
It would have been better if they'd got children's views though. Theyhad adults who had gone through transition on the platform, but nounder-18s.
I didn't say anything. I was falling asleep. It could have been moreyoung people-friendly.
