Subcontracting models of Connexions partnerships pose different challenges from the direct delivery model, but this variety is important.

There are four reasons that either model will work: mutual respect for partners, joint working, strong leadership and diversity of delivery.

It is the diversity in the delivery of subcontracting partnerships that helps give local service provision its effectiveness.

There were three less flattering Ofsted reports for subcontracting partnerships when they went live, but since then there has been no evidence to suggest this model is providing different levels of service provision.
