I have just read the soundbite where Jordan says "I don't care what people say - you don't have to breastfeed. I don't want a baby drinking from me" and I am astounded (Children Now, 15 August-4 September).
Jordan is a role model to a large number of young girls and women and I am saddened to see that she will probably reduce the breastfeeding rate with such an immature attitude. Our staff and volunteers are working hard to support and encourage breastfeeding and comments like this will not help.
They show how little she understands about how babies develop. Breast milk is not a drink, it is a unique baby food, one that can't be wrongly mixed or the wrong temperature.
