The association launched its first five regional centres in England and said it could set them up in Wales and Scotland too.
The centres were developed in partnership with local authority early years development and childcare partnerships. They are in Hartlepool, for the North East; Grantham, for the East Midlands; Hounslow, for London; Halton, for the North West; and Birmingham, for the West Midlands.
Funding for the centres has come from the Government Office for the North East, London Development Agency and the Big Lottery Fund. The Sure Start Unit provided support through the Neighbourhood Nurseries Initiative, and the Allied Irish Bank also provided finance.
