The National Crime and Grime Survey, commissioned by Community Service Volunteers (CSV) Make a Difference Day and Barclays, showed that street crime is the main concern for the British public, with 63 per cent of respondents saying they would like that to change. Drugs and binge drinking came second, with 55 per cent, and yob culture was third with 54 per cent.
But drinking does not seem to be too much of a problem for young people aged 18 to 24. When surveyed, only 43 per cent said it is one of the three things they would most like to change, compared with 61 per cent of 45- to 54-year-olds.
