NUMBERS GAME: Enjoying school

1 min read

The report suggests that 11- to 16-year-olds would enjoy school more if the lessons were more interesting and vocational, helping them to go on to further education.

According to the study conducted by MORI, 66 per cent of the 2,469 state school pupils surveyed enjoyed school most of the time. However, only five per cent admitted they enjoyed school all of the time.

Emphasising the link between positive experiences of school and the likelihood of going on to higher education, nearly four in five young people who enjoyed school believed they would go on to university.

When those who didn't like school were asked what would make the experience more enjoyable, more than half requested more interesting lessons.
