1 min read

According to the research, 85 per cent of 15- to 24-year-olds use home PCs for multimedia and entertainment.

However, two-thirds use PCs to stay in touch with people. And PCs are not just used for leisure - 22 per cent of 15- to 24-year-olds compile databases, while 15 per cent organise their diaries.

The wide range of uses could be because so many young people now have access to PCs. Research conducted last year by NFO System Three for the Department for Education and Skills showed 98 per cent of five- to 18-year-olds had use of a computer either at school, home or elsewhere.
