Numbers game Advice

Young people were asked what kind of information and advice they would like to receive, and the most popular area was health, with careers advice second.

Other issues they wanted support on included school stress, bullying, housing and money. When asked where they would like advice, 78 young people said at a youth club. Seventy-three said school and 48 Connexions.

Young people's views were explored in more detail in workshops, where respondents said there should be more web sites, helplines and magazines that addressed mental health issues.

Christine White, Poole's principal youth officer, said: "We see this consultation as being key to informing our future planning of services for children and young people."
