The top request by young people was for more under-18s nightclubs, with 82 per cent saying there were not enough activities for them to do during their free time. Young people were also asked about the five outcomes of Every Child Matters. Just over one in eight said they felt fit and healthy and 96 per cent believed they would be employed. Only 29 per cent of the respondents volunteered in the community, and more boys than girls showed a desire to get involved in decision-making in both their community and youth services.
Angela Browne, senior research executive at QA, said: "The fact that a lot of young people were not aware of Youth Matters could be because they are the ones who are not engaged with schools or youth clubs."
