The money is part of an £11.5m package of improvements in Nottinghamshire, which includes £5m in Myplace funding to revamp Westfield Folk House youth centre in Mansfield.
The county council is adding £1.5m of its money to the revamp at Westfield Folk House, in addition to building five new one-storey youth centres, each costing £1m. Three of these facilities, which will all feature a large meeting space, coffee bar and meeting rooms, have already opened.
Derek Higton, the council's head of youth service, said: "The new buildings are a positive contribution to the local community and a clear statement of support for young people by the county council."
