The Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People will be meeting other participation and rights organisations in September, including Unicef and Amnesty International.
Patricia Lewsley, the commissioner, said: "We're looking at coming together to have a wider joined-up strategy to work in partnership. We want to have a 'right space' approach to complement each other and have a stronger package for young people so we are not all competing."
The commissioner has also carried out a six-week consultation with 1,700 young people to influence her priorities for 2008-11. "At the moment it is early days for results but a big issue young people raised was about play and leisure facilities, including for teenagers," said Lewsley. The findings and the priorities will be sent out for consultation in October with a plan to be unveiled after Christmas.
