On 23 February, Northamptonshire County Council was due to set a budget that would have meant redundancy for virtually all the county's youth workers. But it was blocked at the last minute by a High Court injunction, after service users applied for a judicial review.
Solicitor Yvonne Hossack is acting for 85 complainants protesting about the proposed closure of services, including activities and daycare provision for disabled young people.
Hossack claims the budget is unlawful because the council failed to properly consult and to consider the Disability Discrimination Act. She also argues that the council is failing to consider the Human Rights Act.
