Mary Marsh, director of the NSPCC was made a Dame, while NCH chairGordon Edington was awarded a CBE. Others honoured included JoyceMoseley, chief executive of Rainer, who was awarded an OBE.
Marsh said her honour recognised the "truly inspiring commitment ofNSPCC staff, volunteers and supporters over many years to the challengeof ending cruelty to children".
Clare Tickell, NCH chief executive, said Edington was "absolutelydedicated to making the lives of children and young people better" andhas brought "tremendous energy" to his work.
Moseley said: "I'm very pleased to receive this, not least because ofthe recognition it gives to youth justice. Young offenders are first andforemost young people, facing the same challenges as any other youngperson struggling to move into adulthood. This was something that struckme from my first job in the sector and has stayed with me throughout mycareer."
