John and Marjorie Bromwich have been foster parents in the Black Country for 36 years of their 47-year marriage.
Marjorie, 65, said: "We're not sure how many children we've looked after because the records only go back to 1972 and we started in 1968.
"We love kids - it's given us a lot of joy. It's really nice to see kids you had when they were 10 or 12 turn up on your doorstep when they are 30 years old."
Elsewhere on the list, Margaret Bamford was given an OBE for services to children in Belarus. The former assistant director of social services at West Sussex Council has pushed for legislative change in the former Soviet republic and helped set up the Belarussian Association of Foster Carers.
