This group of 12 London-based young people has been meeting regularly for two years to discuss public health-related issues. The group is linked to the Department of Health-funded Public Health Research Consortium. They feed young people's priorities into the planning of the research programme and have also produced a young person's version of a research report.
NCB's research department also works in partnership with Research in Practice (RiP) to deliver the NIFTY Evaluation programme. This provides tuition, consultancy, mentoring and networking support to local authorities wishing to develop skills in conducting small-scale evaluations of their projects and services.
Six local authorities have been recruited from RiP partner agencies, each nominating two members of staff to be involved in the NIFTY project over 12 months. Each participating agency has committed to using the project to support a specific piece of evaluation work.
