NCB Now: Young people to aid health research

1 min read
A great deal of research is taking place in the field of public health, but young people are rarely asked what they think about its aims and objectives.

To address this information gap, NCB's research department is running aproject to help young people aged 13 to 16 become more involved inresearch on public health.

The medical research charity Wellcome Trust is helping NCB fund twoyoung people's reference groups in London and Yorkshire for a period ofalmost two years. Prior experience in public health or research is notnecessary, but applicants must have an interest in both and be able toattend meetings in either London or Leeds. NCB will cover travelexpenses, provide food at meetings, pay for accommodation atresidentials and offer a 20 gift voucher in return for the youngperson's time and involvement.
