NCB: Role of parents to be focus of event

1 min read
The National Quality Improvement Network (NQIN), hosted by NCB, will hold its fourth annual conference, Ask the Family, on 22 June in London.

The conference will explore the central role that families and parents play as part of a drive to bring about learning, change and improvement in services for children and families. Research has shown that family relationships are crucial in determining outcomes for children. These studies also demonstrate a strong need to engage parents in services, with a new kind of partnership between parents and professionals emerging from the Start Right report.

Workshops at the conference will focus on the Principles for Engaging with Families booklet, which will be launched at the conference.

At the conference, results from the 2010 NQIN survey, which will inform the future of NQIN's development work programme, will be published. The survey asked participants about local authority usage of quality improvement processes and quality assurance schemes, how quality is being embedded within local authorities and thoughts on NQIN's role and future opportunities.
