NCB Now: Comment - Quality strategies will achieve high standards

In April, over 200 delegates came together in Manchester to discuss new developments in the world of quality improvement for early years and childcare settings.

The conference was hosted by the National Quality Improvement Network (NQIN), which was set up nearly three years ago as a peer support network for those involved in developing and managing quality assurance and quality improvement processes for children's settings. The network receives funding from the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) for a programme of publications, projects, seminars and regional group meetings.

Keynote speakers at the conference shared important information about developments in the world of quality improvement. For instance, the network has been looking for evidence of the effectiveness of engaging in systematic quality improvement processes such as quality assurance schemes.
