The charity received almost 40 abusive emails, including many with racist content, last week after both the Daily Mail and the Daily Telegraph published stories criticising its Young Children and Racial Justice book.
The Mail accused the book of of being totalitarian and trying to regulate speech and thought, while the Telegraph claimed the book said children who refuse to eat foreign food could be showing signs of racism.
Sally Whitaker, deputy chief executive of the NCB, said that the emails were "incredibly disturbing" and a "sad indictment of our society".
The newspaper reports also prompted a spate of reader comments on the papers' websites, accusing the book of political correctness.
