The funding will be used to provide strategic support to the delivery of Every Child Matters and The Children's Plan, through specialist cross-cutting policy advice and stakeholder engagement around existing and emerging policy priorities, particularly focusing on play, youth justice and health.
NCB will also strengthen capacity and partnership working within the voluntary sector through the provision of information, training, and through its membership scheme. Funding will be used to embed the VCS Engage communication and training programmes and to encourage increased participation of children and young people by provision of information, training and engagement in policy development and research.
Sally Whitaker, deputy chief executive of NCB, said: "We are delighted with this recognition of NCB's contribution to improving the lives of children and young people."
