On 6 May, twenty-four young people attended a Parliamentary reception, hosted by Edward Davey, Liberal Democrat MP, whose parents died while he was a child. Lord Stone of Blackheath, a long-standing champion for bereaved children and young people, also spoke at the reception.
The young people talked to MPs and peers about their experiences of bereavement, what support they received and why they think similar support should be available to all children and young people whose loved one has died.
Alison Penny, CBN's co-ordinator, said: "All too often, the voices of young people go unheard, but this was an opportunity for MPs and peers to learn more about the young people's experiences and ideas."
