Alberta Bunbury, Zara Grossett and Irene Karapetian participated in 'Diffusing the Diet Time Bomb', organised by the Food Standards Agency in Westminster on 27 January.
"It's an issue that affects a lot of children," said Irene, 16. "I find it hard to avoid junk food , even though I know I shouldn't eat it. But if we get together and do something about it, levels of obesity will fall."
Zara, 17, added: "I don't think it's right that parents tell kids it's OK to eat fast food all the time. They should tell them that it's not good for them - their health is at stake. There should also be more choice in school meals."
