NCB Now: VCS Engage: moving forward

1 min read
It is widely acknowledged that collaboration between agencies working to deliver services within the Every Child Matters framework is key to achieving improving outcomes.

However, it is also recognised that there are challenges to overcome before effective engagement between the statutory and voluntary sectors can be achieved.

VCS Engage, an initiative funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families, is working to identify these challenges and deliver tools to help overcome them. The programme is steered by a consortium of voluntary and community sector organisations that includes: the National Children's Bureau, consortium chair and programme host; the National Council for Voluntary Child Care Organisations; the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action; the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services; Parenting UK; and the Family Welfare Association.
