NCB Now: VCS Engage to host consultation events

VCS Engage, a national programme running from now until March 2008, is hosting free consultation events around the country. The events are designed to help establish the views of voluntary and community sector (VCS) providers and help organisations overcome barriers to increased involvement in the delivery of children's services.

The VCS Engage programme, funded by the Department for Education andSkills, aims to strengthen the engagement of VCS services working withchildren, young people and families in the planning and delivering ofpublic services.

The free events will take the form of discussion-based workshops for VCSproviders and infrastructure support organisations, and will be anopportunity to learn more about the programme.

The events will help inform the VCS Engage consortium on what theirpriorities should be for supporting the sector, and will be used inconjunction with other research as the basis for the programme'straining and support packages.

Findings from the events will then be published in a report in March2008.
