NCB Now: Toolkit for health in secure settings

1 min read
The Council for Disabled Children, based at NCB, has launched a new guide to support the inclusion of disabled children in children's centres and extended schools.

Funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families, Extending Inclusion brings together learning and information for those managing and working in children's centres and extended schools, as well as those in the local authorities and voluntary organisations that work with them.

The guide aims to support them in improving access and inclusion for disabled children, young people and their families. It also includes useful case studies and a CD of resources.

Children's minister Beverley Hughes said: "We set out in Aiming High for Disabled Children that we are determined to ensure every disabled child has the best start in life and can maximise their life opportunities. This report will help us to ensure that disabled children have the same chance as other children to enjoy their childhood and gain the experience, knowledge and skills they need to do well in life."
