Promoting the Health and Well-being of Young People in Supported Housinghas been produced as a result of a two-year national development projectfunded by the Teenage Pregnancy Unit at the Department for Education andSkills.
The guide's author Ellie Lewis, who is project development officer forhealth and wellbeing at NCB, said: "Young people in supported housingare among the most disadvantaged in society. Many have experiencedhomelessness and other events leaving them vulnerable to a range ofphysical, mental and emotional health problems. The time young peoplespend in supported housing can provide an opportunity to help themimprove their health and wellbeing, meaning they have betteropportunities in life and avoid further social exclusion."
