Recent government policy and legislation has encouraged partnership working between health and housing providers to identify and meet the needs of homeless young people. This has led to many innovative projects being carried out at local level across the country.
To gather examples of this work, NCB will consult with a range of health and housing practitioners, as well as holding workshops with groups of homeless young people.
"Homeless young people face a disproportionately high risk of a range of mental and physical health problems, yet many experience difficulties accessing appropriate support," said Elinor Lewis from NCB's Children's Development Department. "This initiative aims to improve understanding of best practice in promoting the health and well-being of this vulnerable group."
