Childhood bereavement: developing the curriculum and pastoral support by Nina Job and Gill Frances outlines the important role schools have to play, not only in helping those who have experienced bereavement, but in preparing all children and young people through PSHE and other areas of the curriculum.
The booklet provides advice on how to give support, case studies, lesson plans and additional information to assist schools in addressing the issues of death and bereavement.
It will be launched at a conference in London on 28 April. The event, Feeling alone and different, has been organised by NCB and the Childhood Bereavement Network, with support from BBC Children in Need.
