NCB Now: Pupil wellbeing in the 21st century school

Thanks to Every Child Matters and the 21st Century Schools white paper, the unique role that schools play in securing children's wellbeing has finally been recognised.

NCB is holding a conference to bring together leading experts in the field with head teachers, school governors and children's services professionals to examine what wellbeing is, what it means for schools and how our partnerships can improve outcomes for children.

Fergus Crow, assistant director of wellbeing at NCB, said: "It is easy to say that working together for children and young people is the best way to improve outcomes, but we all know that getting our partnerships right at every level is the key to success. For schools and their partners this is an exciting but challenging time as Every Child Matters becomes the defining lexicon of school life.
