There is wide acceptance that unstructured outdoor play improves children's physical and emotional development, mental wellbeing and social skills and offers opportunities for creative learning. Yet these experiences are gradually being displaced as a result of adult's aversion to risk.
As concern about the physical health and mental wellbeing of Scotland's children grows, a special Children in Scotland one-day conference will explore the benefits to children of being and learning outdoors.
- The conference will be held in Crieff on 17 June, visit www.childreninscotland.org/ntn.
