Opportunities for outdoor play and activity can contribute hugely to children's learning and creativity, social relationships and physical wellbeing. These important aspects of outdoor play will be explored at Playing Outside, a Children in Europe special conference supported by Fife Council, taking place on 16 September.
Nature has been described as the best environment for a child's play, and research has shown that children who play outside are more curious and physically healthier. The outdoor environment also offers important opportunities for developing relationships as well as encouraging a sense of independence.
