1 min read
NCB has been awarded 86,499 from the Big Lottery Fund for a new participation project involving 30 young people from the West Midlands. The young people, aged 12 to 18, will experience an exciting communication-training programme.

The funding comes from the new Young People's Fund programme, which willdistribute 40m of lottery cash to groups working with youngpeople in England over the next two years.

The programme will increase the group's skills and confidence inmanaging events, conducting research and consultations, and working withthe media, particularly in relation to health, education and socialcare.

After the training, which will be co-faciliated by six Young NCBmembers, the young people will choose a local participation project tocomplete by the end of the year, looking at issues such as child andadolescent self-harm, communication with children, or young people anddrugs. The transferable skills gained will help their advancement intojobs and further education.
