NCB Now: NCB to survey mobile youth facilities

1 min read
NCB and Business in the Community are collaborating with a range of private, public and voluntary sector partners to find out more about mobile youth facilities offering activities for young people.

Mobile youth facilities provide young people with opportunities to engage in social and recreational activities. They are more than just buses that simply transport young people from one place to another but also provide outreach work, and referral to a range of local community service providers. They serve as a central point of connection for local young people as well as youth workers, and a place where young people can access information about social, health, legal and financial issues.

NCB and Business in the Community are conducting a survey in order to gain information about which local authorities and areas offer mobile youth facilities, what type of models local areas have at present, and what plans there are to set up provision in the future. The answers will inform a programme of work at a local level commencing at the end of this year.
