This issue looks at bullying in care and in the community as well as in schools. It provides examples of successful anti-bullying initiatives, such as a project run by children's charity Young Voice in Camden.
The newsletter highlights the work of the Anti-Bullying Alliance, based at NCB, which distributes materials and expertise on bullying through regional networks so that schools, pupils and parents can access the support they need.
The alliance launches its first national Anti-Bullying Week on 22 November when a range of events will be held throughout the country.
"Bullying is not 'just another fact of life'. It is unacceptable behaviour," said Gill Frances, NCB's director of children's development, who manages the Anti-Bullying Alliance. "We call on professionals across all settings to ensure that any form of bullying is challenged creatively and positively."
