NCB Now: NCB helps shape service structures

In the wake of the Laming Report, which criticised a range of providers for failing to co-ordinate their services, the delivery of children's services is being overhauled with the creation of Children's Trust Pathfinders - and NCB, in partnership with the University of East Anglia (UEA), will help evaluate these pathfinders.

The DfES and the Department of Health have commissioned UEA, in partnership with NCB, to undertake a three-year evaluation of the impact of the 35 current Children's Trust Pathfinders.

NCB will help ensure that children's perspectives are included. Children and young people with different characteristics will be asked to contribute their views.

Issues to be discussed will include access to services, how children use them and how they could be improved.
