The Children's Society

The Children's Society has released a new DVD for professionals highlighting children and young people's experience of living with parental substance misuse. Swept Under the Carpet, a new report launched by The Children's Society and Alcohol Concern, revealed that a staggering 2.6 million children live at risk of neglect because of a parent's drinking habits.

Ask Me About Me features the experiences of children and young people aged eight to 18, describing the impact parental substance abuse has on their lives. The training resource was developed by The Children's Society's Stars National Initiative in Nottingham, working with young people to enable their voices to influence decision makers and raise awareness.
