Over half a million children in the UK grow up with a disabled brother or sister. Siblings of disabled children experience lack of parental attention, isolation and social exclusion and many also face prejudice, bullying and bereavement. Sibs is the UK charity for brothers and sisters of disabled children and adults and promotes the development of discussionbased sibling groups, which help siblings cope better with family and school life. It aims to enhance the lives of siblings by providing them with information and support, and by influencing service provision throughout the UK.
