Based on interviews with seven to 13-year-olds it challenges existing notions on how siblings interact.
It is the first in a series of reports from the foundation which aim to address important gaps in current thinking about children's lives.
The series is aimed particularly at those who have responsibility for designing or managing children's services, supporting children within families or providing advice on parenting. Two further reports are due to be published by NCB later this year.
