BBC Children in Need's experience shows that significant and valuable work can be achieved with a small grant and that these grants are among the most imaginative and meaningful that it makes.
To reflect this, it has recently launched a small grants programme, designed to encourage applications from those who may never have considered applying to BBC Children in Need, as well as previous applicants.
Chief executive David Ramsden explained: "The small grants programme is an especially important part of our grant-making; it helps us to connect with organisations that are at the heart of local communities and ensures our grants reach as many projects as possible."
