BBC Children in Need launches funding scheme

BBC Children in Need has launched a small grants programme.

The grants, of £10,000 or less per year for a maximum of three years, aim to encourage those who may never have considered applying to BBC Children in Need to send in an application.

David Ramsden, chief executive of BBC Children in Need, said: "The small grants programme is an especially important part of our grant-making; it helps us to connect with organisations which are at the heart of local communities and ensures our grants reach as many projects as possible."

There are four yearly deadlines in the year, each with a 14 week turnaround: 15 January; 15 April, 15 July and 15 October.
