Fun and Friendship

What is it? Fun and Friendship is a new 3m grant programme from BBC Children in Need.

It focuses on disabled young people aged 12 to 18 who live in the UK. It follows research revealing a lack of opportunity for disabled young people to socialise independently, which often leads to feelings of loneliness and isolation.

How much is on offer? BBC Children in Need intends to award 12 three-year grants of up to £300,000 each. The grants are in addition to the organisation's general grants.

What will it fund? The cash is aimed at projects that empower disabled young people. The primary focus of applications should be social interaction, with disabled young people actively engaged in determining how that develops.
