NCB Now: Event will pool UK agencies' experience

A major conference to be held in London on 22 September will look at the issues for policy-makers and practitioners in the four UK nations in providing services for families in challenging circumstances.

The event, Investing in Families, has been jointly organised by NCB, FSU and Alcohol Concern in association with Children in Scotland and Children in Wales.

"Our aim is to explore ways of supporting families who may be in difficulty, with a focus on domestic violence, mental health, drug and alcohol misuse, and social exclusion," said Ruth Dalzell, NCB lead on family support.

"We will also look at ways to improve services for asylum-seeker families and those from minority ethnic groups."
