NCB Now: Event explores child poverty in London

A major conference held in London on 27 February looked at ways of combating the causes of child poverty in the capital, exploring issues such as employment, housing and education.

The Closing the Gap conference was organised by End Child Poverty, whichis based at NCB, in partnership with the Mayor of London's office andthe Association of London Government.

The conference opened with a speech from London mayor KenLivingstone.

Other speakers included Caroline Abrahams, acting chair of the End ChildPoverty Campaign, and Councillor Dame Sally Powell, deputy chair of theAssociation of London Government.

End Child Poverty is a coalition of organisations campaigning to ensureeradicating child poverty becomes a reality.
