Facts and figures on ... adoption
In 2003/04 3,700 children were adopted, six per cent more than the previous year and 37 per cent more than in 1999/2000. The average age at adoption was four years and five months.

Young people with diabetes
Diabetes is unlikely to stop young people from trying out activities and it is important that non-judgmental advice on, for example, alcohol should be provided. Although the impact of drug use on diabetes is relatively unknown, staff should not avoid discussing it.
