The number of children in Britain covered by the Disability Discrimination Act

The Department for Work and Pensions estimates that around 700,000 children in Britain are covered by the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. This number includes all those aged 18 and under who are unmarried, in full-time, non-advanced education and live at home.

- Consultation on the Code of Practice in Relation to Confidential Information The Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) has published a draft code of practice outlining how it will access, handle and use confidential information during inspections of social care services. Comments on the draft are required by 15 October 2004. Copies of the draft code can be obatined from the CSCI website (www.csci.org.uk) or by calling 0845 015 0120
